Total Dissolved Solids
The water-loving club has fans beyond just children who love to take a dip in the pool.
While we get to the technical part of that statement, let us recollect the times when the water you’d get dive into felt seemingly hard? Or the water you drank seemed salty?
You see the water has a god-like capability, of being able to engulf everything. This means that water is a universal solvent and that’s precisely why it doesn’t just pick up everything in its way but also accumulates minerals where it rests.
It is at situations like these (which are a common occurrence), that the total dissolved substances (TDS) in it are wavering. It’s not a widely known problem and is hence often ignored.
Water is an important source for minerals like calcium and magnesium in a diet.
Total dissolved solids are the term used to describe the inorganic salts and small amounts of organic matter present in solution in water.
Calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium, are the cations, the positively charged ions. It also has bicarbonates, chlorides, and sulfates which are anions, the negatively charged ions.
According to World Health Organisation reports, certain components of TDS, such as chlorides, sulfates, magnesium, calcium, and carbonates, affect corrosion or encrustation in water-distribution systems. It states that high TDS levels result in excessive scaling in water pipes, water heaters, boilers, and household appliances such as kettles and steam irons. Such scaling can shorten the service life of these appliances.
Below given is the preferred level of TDS concluded by a WHO report:
|Level Of TDS (milligrams per liter)||Rating|
|Less than 300||Excellent|
Aqua Conditioners doesn’t change TDS
TDS is not always harmful. Aqua Conditioners products give you the benefits of soft water without reducing the TDS/ppm/hardness levels. There is no addition or removal in the water content.
Aqua Conditioners softens the water, breaks down the cations and the anions that get attached to the pipes/fittings/machinery, which later cause damage to your equipment or even spoil the look of the shower you dearly love.
So, keep the water-loving or hydrophilic substances at bay and try out one of our easy to install solutions.
